The SVBONY SV305 is an astronomy camera for imaging the Moon and planets as well as the brighter deep-sky objects. It has a IMX290 backlit 2MP sensor, with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080. Exposures range from 1ms to 30mins. 128MB RAM image buffer for increased performance. 8-bit and 12-bit ADC.
The SV305 is supported by astronomical capture software running on Windows and Linux including the Raspberry Pi.
Region of interest is supported which allows higher frame rates with smaller regions of the object being imaged, of particular importance for planetary imaging.
Q: Is SV305 camera a deep sky camera?
A: Nope, SV305 is a planetary camera.
Q: The computer displays a black screen.
A: 1. Please confirm whether the camera is connected successfully. You need to connect "SVBONY SV305" in the camera.
2. Please increase the exposure slowly, too low exposure will cause a black screen.
Q: What’s the exposure time of your SV305 camera?
A: We design 30mins for people using it. People could try it to capture the object they want. Maybe could get some bright deep sky object. But please remember SV305 camera is a planetary camera, it doesn’t have a cooler. So please don’t judge it as a deep sky camera.
Q: SV305 the image was blurrier than a cheaper SVBONY camera (the SV105 had a clearer and brighter image) and the image was yellowed compared to a cheaper SV105. Someone placed SV105 and the SV305 on the same telescope, used the same capture program, and SV305 camera’s image was fuzzier and yellowed.
A: This should be because the parameters have not been adjusted well, you can try to re-adjust the parameters;
Although the matched telescopes are the same, the parameter settings of SV105 are not suitable for SV305, after all, the camera configuration is different. You can try to shoot ground objects during the day to see if they are clear; Whether there is dust on the camera, clean it; If it doesn't work, you can take a photo or video and watch it.
